Terms & Conditions
Terms governing use of this website and, in summary, the certification relationship.
Last updated: September 2026. Placeholder text for the preview build, the client’s legal text replaces this before launch. The certification agreement, not this page, governs certified clients.
Use of this website
Content on nafah.org is provided for information. You may view, print and quote it with attribution. You may not reproduce the NAFAH mark, or present any page as your own, without written permission.
Certificate records
NAFAH's certificate record is the only authoritative record of a NAFAH certificate. A printed or emailed certificate that does not match it should not be relied on. Records are updated the day a decision is made, but we do not guarantee the site is available at all times.
Use of the NAFAH mark
The mark is licensed to certified clients for products within the scope of a valid certificate, subject to artwork approval. Use on products outside the scope, or after a certificate has expired, been suspended or withdrawn, is a breach of the licence and will be pursued.
Certification decisions and appeals
Grant, suspension and withdrawal decisions are made by the Certification Committee. Any certified client may appeal in writing within the period stated in the certification procedure. Appeals are heard by people who were not involved in the original decision.
Impartiality and complaints
NAFAH maintains an impartiality statement and a complaints procedure, issued with the application pack and available on request from info@nafah.org.
Liability
Certification is an assessment against a published standard at a point in time. It does not guarantee that every unit of product is halal; that responsibility remains with the manufacturer. To the extent permitted by law, NAFAH is not liable for loss arising from reliance on this website.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States of America.
